Welcome to FAVELAS, the heartbeat of Brazil’s hillsides!
Rocinha, Brazil –stands as one of the largest slums in Brazil and Latin America. Once a rural haven, it swiftly transformed into a bustling urban core on a steep hill, housing around 200,000 residents within Rio de Janeiro. Known for its narrow alleys and intertwined staircases.
The challenge is to design a conceptual public space in the middle of favelas.
The design should facilitate various activities, from art exhibitions, festivals, and sports. The architectural concept intends to be flexible and multipurpose area.
The particpants are free to keep/reuse/connect/transform the surroundings.
Every awarded project will be shared on the website and showcased on architectural platforms. Additionally, they will also be exhibited at both national and international architectural events.
